Scholarship Information
Eligibility:
A member in good standing who is graduation from high school and intends to enroll in a community college, vocational/technical program, college or university upon graduation from high school.
Application Process:
- Student submits the General Scholarship Application available in the guidance offices of each high school
- Submit official transcripts with the application
- Submit the counselors report which is a comprehensive summary of the student’s high school experience
- Submit a letter from the student stating why they are applying and what their educational goals are
- Letter from the parents stating why their child should be selected.
Evaluation of applications:
An independent committee will have the responsibility of evaluating each application based on the following criteria:
- Completeness and neatness
- Academic promise based on grade point average, course levels of difficulty, standardized test scores used by admission offices.
- Counselors report
- Student and parent letters of merit
- The applications are to be submitted from mid February to mid April to coincide with the normal scholarship application time frames in our High Schools.
Payment of Scholarships Funds:
Payment will be made by check made payable to the student/institution for deposit in the students financial aid account. The student will need to make an appointment with the secretary/treasurer two weeks prior to departure and show the letter of acceptance from the institution , date of enrollment showing full time status of minimum of 12 semester hours, and proper identification.
